When we first came up with the idea for #SmallTownSundays, I was sure that at some point I’d be taking a road trip in the car. But what a summer we’ve had! And even though I was sure we’d get wet yesterday, we made it into Wellington County and home again without seeing a drop. Well, a drop of rain anyway. 🙂The latest stop on our tour of small towns took us to Mapleton’s Organic Dairy Farm. It’s a working farm but I wasn’t there for the alpacas. I was there for the ice cream! As you probably know, I have a soft spot for ice cream and Mapleton’s organic did not disappoint. I went for the double scoop of cappuccino and mint chocolate chip and it was divine.

Then, since the weather was still looking safe, I decided to head a little further down the road to Elora. I mean, the road sign said the village was only 31 kilometres from the farm and there’s a brewery in Elora I was yet to check out so, I mean…really, what’s a guy to do? Go to the Elora Brewing Company, of course. I tried a flight of four different beers and — surprise! — enjoyed them all. The ‘Table Beer’ — a little lighter than I normally drink — was especially nice.

So another Sunday and another small town are in the books and as fall approaches, our chances of getting out are getting limited. But we’re going to continue touring as long as we’re able, so keep those suggestions coming! In the meantime, enjoy these other pictures from yesterday’s tour.

Until next time…
