Now that I’m back from Europe, it’s time to get back out there and explore southern Ontario! Our “Small Town Sundays” tour continued this weekend with a trip to Seaforth for — what else?? — ice cream! I love ice cream…and I love all of the suggestions you’ve been making about places to visit! This suggestion came from Meghan, who said it was actually her boyfriend who recommended Freeze King on the main street in Seaforth. It was a beautiful ride through Stratford and then up Highway 8 through Sebringville (“The Hamlet with Heart”) and Mitchell (“The Home of Howie Morenz”). And Freeze King did not disappoint! Meghan’s boyfriend mentioned the burgers and other food but I was on an ice cream mission and it was definitely worth it. Lots of yummy flavours, hard and soft serve, and milkshakes, too!

This trip was made even more fun when I heard the radio station being played at Freeze King when I got there. They were listening to our sister station, CHYM 96.7! Sure, it would have been great to hear Country 106.7 but we’re all one big happy family over here. Plus, PJ — who was on the air at the time — is not only a great announcer but an awesome guy. It was nice to listen to him while I enjoyed my ice cream.

I’ve been thinking back to the places I’ve visited on these tours so far. We started in Rockwood, then moved on to Wingham, Harriston, Arthur, Hillsburgh, Port Burwell, Thornbury, and Port Stanley. Now we’ve checked Seaforth off the list. Keep those recommendations coming! I’ve got a few weekends of riding weather still to come…and room in my belly. 😉

See ya down the road,

Farwell
