Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long said he will donate his first 6 game checks this season to fund scholarships in his hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia. Chris and his wife, Megan, wanted to help students. This is his way of fighting back against the “Unite the Right” rally that occurred in Charlottesville in August!

The scholarships will provide 2 students with a 7 year, all-expenses-paid school program and will be given by Long’s old high school St. Anne’s-Belfield School. The Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia will award 2 of their members with the scholarships.

Chris Long has said “In August, we watched people fill our hometown streets with hatred and bigotry. Megan and I decided to try to combat those actions with our own positive investment in our community.”

Long won a Superbowl with the New England Patriots last year!
